Friends of Mellon Park is a grassroots community organization whose mission is to support, protect, and advocate for all of Mellon Park. We work to engage others to do the same. This beautiful greenspace is situated at the intersection of many neighborhoods, and we are committed to a park that is welcoming to all.

We know that cities and parks thrive when diversity is cherished. Everyone who visits Mellon Park, whether for a walk in a garden, a game of tennis, a stop at the spray park, or a family picnic should feel that it belongs to them, because it does!

The organization recognizes that there are many ongoing issues with the park including maintenance, preservation of ecosystems, improvement and restoration of historic structures, care of recreational facilities, parking, and more.

Friends of Mellon Park has engaged with the City of Pittsburgh, Phipps Conservatory, Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, Preservation Pittsburgh, and Tree Pittsburgh, as well as the Point Breeze Organization, the Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition, and the Shadyside Action Coalition. Our thanks to everyone who works to protect and preserve the park.
