Who We Are

Friends of Mellon Park is a grassroots community organization whose mission is to support, protect, and advocate for all of Mellon Park. We work to engage others to do the same. This beautiful greenspace is situated at the intersections of many neighborhoods, and we are committed to a park that is welcoming to all.

Arboretum

Mellon Park has been designated as the first public arboretum in the City of Pittsburgh. It is now a protected green space for the continued study, preservation, enjoyment, and health of our environment. Friends of Mellon Park is very grateful to everyone in the City of Pittsburgh who helped make this possible.

Caring for the Park

Friends of Mellon Park is actively engaged in numerous projects to maintain and protect the park. Thanks to Preservation Pittsburgh, Mellon Park’s historic structures, and designed landscape have received a City Historic Designation and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
